This past weekend was a long one here in Canada, so we decided to pack up and visit some family at their cottage house on Longbow Lake in the heart of Ontario's Lake of the Woods. This area is incredibly beautiful, and only a few hours away from the flatlands of Manitoba. The entire area was carved out by moving glaciers, and left an unbelievable landscape of lakes, hills, valleys and exposed rock that can take your breath away.
A common sight down this stretch of highway are
's, little man made figures created from loose rock. They guard travelers down long winding roads.
We spent 3 days floating in the lake, lounging in the sun, and sitting by the fire. Paradise.
This summer has been so amazing, and there's still one month to go! What are your plans for August 2010?
