Have you heard about Project Restyle? Spearheaded by Elsie of A Beautiful Mess & Rachel of Smile & Wave, Project Restyle is a just-for-fun creative group focused on ReStyling damaged, unwanted or unusable goods into fresh, beautiful pieces.
This initiative serves as an open invitation for anyone who would like to participate, where you can post your re-styled projects on the Project Restyle flickr group, and pledge to take part in the challenge for 2011.
I was excited to see the formation of this group since making just for fun, one-off projects involving recycled items is one of the most fulfilling hobbies I have. In 2010, I made several projects, including the hand dyed and reconstructed vintage dress below which was auctioned off for charity. My friend and fabulous designer Melanie of Dizzy Dame re-con'd a 70's plaid skirt into a very cool throw pillow, and I recycled a plain grey men's t-shirt into a pair of moccasin style slippers for a local contest (check out some of the other rad entries).

Lune & I are excited to share a step by set recon down the road for Project Restyle on March 23! For a schedule of featured restyles by Elsie and several other talented artist and bloggers, as well a list of guidelines and your opportunity to pledge, visit the Project Restyle page.
