Trading Post

My friend Barb of Spiro Creations is one of the most creative and spirited people I know. She moved to New Zealand from Winnipeg, Canada last year to live there for the long term with her NZ native husband Issac. She works full time creating gorgeous shoes and accessories from the softest leathers. Her work is so original - it's like nothing around. I love how ahead of the curve she was on the resurgence of moccasins & leather craft - and how she's made the craft her own in so many ways.

A while back we did a trade for some merchandise, including THIS cuff, and one pictured below. I also have a pair of her amazing suede slouch boots - can't wait to wear them again this spring. In return, I sent her some Love Lune goods, including the cloudy dyed, gilded tree caftan above. They're created from soft 95% cotton jersey and have an interior tie to keep shape while rockin that over sized look that we love so much.

Trades are an amazing way to share your work with new markets, and enjoy the work of other artists. I have another couple of trades coming up that I'm excited about. Promise to show you in another 'Trading Post'. I say - the old fashioned barter system is still pretty cool and relevant. Trade away!

PS. See an interview we did with fellow mobile shop lovers Oh So Lovely- who are in the process of renovating their adorable 50's trailer Olive into a mobile vintage shop in our home town Winnipeg! Check out the interview HERE.
