Let me share something with you that I bought for $5 at a garage sale a few weekends ago, an Eatons 1976 spring/summer catalogue. Every time I open it, I see something I missed before. It's so much fun!
Investing in a few catalogues from different eras is a great idea if you're a vintage dealer because it gives you a great education on what exact years certain kinds of items are from, where they were available, what they looked like brand new, as well as an idea of how much they originally cost. All that information is a great way to build up a good reputation as someone who knows what they're talking about. Plus, it helps develop an eye for what can work in a modern wardrobe or setting and what's a novelty of the past (and only that).
All completely worthy of coveting today as they were 40 years ago. Are you kidding me with those clogs? That sweater? Those bells? That bag? Dirt cheap too. Oh wait... there's more...
Need some colour inspiration? Circa 1970's...yes thank you!
So let's send our mail order through a time machine and get some awesome on the cheap.
