A picture window of our afternoon skating on the river path. Our city has two big rivers running through it, the Red and the Assiniboine. The point where rivers meet is called The Forks. It's been an important area historically for Winnipeg, and is now a cultural hub and place to meet and play. When the temperatures drop, it's busier than ever. We love skating on our rivers. Art installments, creative warming huts, barrel fires, and a couple hockey rinks are all free for enjoyment. There was even a pop up restaurant right on the river this year. This Sunday we hung out all afternoon and evening with family, ending up at our house for a crock pot dinner (my favorite, so easy!). Good times to remember.
Sometimes I think of moving away. This is what makes us stay. Family is a gift.
