For my 34th birthday we went on a little drive out of the city to a tree farm. Last year we had a fresh potted tree, which was nice but kind of felt small and lacking under our old house's 10 foot ceiling. So, instead of flowers for my day, Todd bought me a beautiful tree. Now that it's home with us, I think it might be the most perfectly shaped Christmas tree ever. It sure adds a nice pine smell to the house.
At the tree farm we rode a sled through the woods, pulled by an antique tractor. Luke loved jumping off and running to catch up with the sled. Filled with hot chocolate, we warmed by the fire and then made our way back home. It was a nice way to spend the first of December.
