The fact that some houses in the town of Banff were being listed by Sotheby's should give you a hint of how special this area is. Surrounded by the Rockies on all sides, it must be the most scenic little community in all of Canada (correct me if I'm wrong). There was no lack of coffee shops and restaurants, with souvenir shopping mixed in with upscale chain brands. I wish the retail selection included more handmade and original shops, but I imagine the lease rates must be through the roof. A person can only go through a few souvenir style shops before they're totally over it. We spent time wandering around town for a few hours, visiting shops, eating lunch and sneaking tequila into a crystal light margarita Slurpee (I was so sick, and I don't blame the booze. Diet Slurpee's are gross!). We drove around the outskirts of town and stopped to talk to a resident who had an Eggie identical to ours in their driveway! We spotted 4 other ones during the trip, each time the kids yelling out "Eggie!!!". It made me really miss ours.
