Before it gets too far into the new month, I figured I'd take a tiny break from travel posts to say goodbye to summer and hello to fall. We spent August long weekend out at my cousins beach house on Lake Winnipeg as we have for a few years now. The guest book records that our first stay there was just after we announced we were going to have baby number two. Two and a half years later, she's spinning on the Whirly-Bird with her big brother and dancing to Hendrix, fascinated by the compact 70's light show. Luke discovered that the VHS library included taped from tv episodes of Tiny Toons ( second reference to that show this summer) and spaced out for a while on the little bit of original orange shag left in the den. The best thing about tv tapes is the commercials. Remember Baby Alive, Sega Game Gear and Quints? After a nice extended brunch with family, Luke and I went for a bike ride and explored the piers. In town, we enjoyed ice cream before Eve and I sunbathed in the grass by the boardwalk while the boys played arcades. That's a pretty nice summer send off, don't ya think?
September is here! We're back to work and school, and looking forward to all the fun that autumn brings.
