Thanksgiving has come and gone for us Canadians, but I want to extend a Happy Thanksgiving to you, my American friends! In celebration of family time, winter and my birthday, the four of us are skipping town to spend a wintery weekend in a yurt with Glamping Hub ! Yay! We're taking bedding, bannock, skates and fixings for stew and hauling ourselves to Ontario for a two nights stay in a stove heated yurt.
This will be our first winter camping experience as a family and the kids have been looking forward to it for weeks! I've been watching the forecast daily. The temperature is supposed to hover around - 10 C ( 14 F ) with some light snowfall. Not too bad considering that this week has been much colder so far. There is a bonfire area and a sauna to warm us up when not in the yurt, and I have some hot, delicious meals planned.
Wanna see what it's like to camp in a winterized yurt? I'll be taking over the @glampinghub Instagram feed this weekend and sharing our winter fun there. Check in with us there during your shopping, cleaning and cooking breaks and after the turkey coma hits!
