Today's Idyll Guide is none other than my own father in law, Wade Munro, a hobby photographer and avid traveler. He and his wife Janet just returned from a tour of China. After enjoying viewing his collection of over 200 select photos, I asked if he would share a few for Lune's Idyll Guide series. What a wonderful contribution! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
The Great Wall
Live the dream, walk the Great Wall of China! Building started around 206 BC & continued thru various dynasties. By Ming Dynasty over 8000 kms unified the several Chiefdoms into one nation.
The Bronze Lion guarding the East Gate at the Summer Palace alongside an amazing floral display. Beijing's "Summer Palace" was the summer residence for Emperors and Empresses.
Terracotta Warriors of Xian
The absolutely amazing Terra Cotta Warriors at Xian. Up to 8000 warriors guarding Emperor Qin Shihuang's Mausoleum are being unearthed, rebuilt and placed in their original positions. Original colour adornments of the warriors are on display for a look at the warriors as they were centuries ago.
