There aren't a lot of things that are irreplaceable for us while traveling. We've had the not so fun experience of leaving our bags behind entirely in the past (I'll never let that one go). It's inevitable, something always goes missing. It can cause a lot of stress and worry that isn't worth spoiling what is supposed to be a great adventure. So you have to swim in your undies, buy a new toothbrush, or wear the same jeans for 5 days? That won't really stop your fun, will it? When it comes to MUST HAVE's our list is short but totally essential to travel happiness: Passports, iPad or iPhone, Cash and a Credit Card.
If you've taken a flight in the past couple years you might have noticed airlines are offering online check-in 24 hours in advance to your flight along with digital boarding passes for your mobile device. Finally, some progress in eliminating annoying paper waste and streamlining the stressful process of air travel. Unfortunately for travellers with kids, West Jet (the company we usually fly with) won't allow electronic boarding passes for children so I've gotten into the habit of saving the electronic pdf passes into ibooks and scanning my iPad at one of the kiosks at the airport to print their paper passes. Then it's up to me (the designated document holder) to keep everything neatly stored in a spot where I can whip it out on command! FAST!
I'm always looking at ways to keep travel tools easy to find and use. When I find a successful gadget, it's a little victory. My iPad mini serves as an essential trip planner, document backup, communication device and entertainment system so it's pretty important that I keep it safe and by my side. The Snugg recently offered one of their tablet cases for me to review on Lune, and it seemed like a perfect fit so I agreed with gratitude. I chose the iPad mini Executive Case Cover in Distressed Brown Leather . It's a good looking warm brown PU leather case with a soft suede interior, Snugg logo discretely embossed on the front corner. Inside, a row of card pouches keep cards, tickets and i.d. close at hand. Most importantly, there is a pouch for cash, boarding passes and passports as well as an elastic hand strap. I thought this strap would be also useful to keep your passports open to the right page, great for when you need to whip them out while stripping down at security (haha). The iPad mini tucks snugly into the case which protects all the sides without covering ports and buttons. AND there's a stylus holder (bonus!). I was very impressed with The Snugg and will definitely be using it on our next trip, driving or flying. One of these days I'll be completely unfrazzled by the experience. Like, maybe in 15 years when my youngest turns 18?
