Rain can be such a blessing in disguise. As you can see from these pictures, our walk through the Nitobe Japanese Memorial Garden in Vancouver was a wet experience. Eve put a borrowed full body rain suit to full use, and Luke was in his 8 year old boy glory getting totally soaked. I juggled an umbrella with my NOT waterproof SLR and tried to capture the scene. Everything was so colourful despite the grey skies. Raindrops bounced off rocks and statues, dripping and running off of overhangs, beading on petals. Everything, including their faces, glowed. And, other than one other visitor, we had the entire garden to ourselves. It was perfect. These are some of my favourite photos of our trip. I hope you enjoy them!
