The Victoria Day long weekend is usually the start to summer around here. Although the temperatures weren't exactly summer worthy - they were still bright and sunny. We picked up Eggie from the farm, did some garden work, and took a day trip to the Narcisse Snake Dens here in Manitoba. The last time we went here Eve was 12 months old, it was a rainy day and the pits were super quiet. This time there was a horde of visitors and pits full of hissing garter snakes. They slithered through the grass and across the paths, easy to catch and visit with up close. As you can see, we all had a few turns. There was also a rare wild crocus sighting. It was a fun weekend. I'm still so grateful not to have to wear my winter coat for a few months.
