Well hellllooooooo. Long time no write. A little over 2 weeks ago we packed up Eggie and set off for an end of summer road trip that included a stop at the Harvest Sun Music Festival in Kelwood, Manitoba and continued down into North Dakota, Montana and eventually Wyoming to explore Yellowstone National Park.
If you follow me on Instagram (@luneblog) you'll know that all did not go as planned. On the upside, we did see Yellowstone, and a hell of a lot more of Montana than expected. There were quite a few dramatic moments, both due to the beautiful world around us and of how stressful it was to be broken down on the side of the highway with an endless stream of transport trucks whizzing by. As it turns out, our trip is not quite over. We'll be returning in September to retrieve poor Eggie, abandoned along with our broken down van back in Montana. I honestly considered starting a "Save Eggie" kickstarter but thought better of it. Instead I'll be holding a big sale on @lunevintage to help pay all the unexpected bills incurred by the events of the past two weeks. More on that soon.
We're exhausted. I return to work tomorrow and learn of my new assignment. Todd goes back to his job with what's sure to be a long list of things to get caught up on. Luke starts school this week too (Grade 4!) and Eve returns to daycare with her Nan and Pop. September is a month for getting used to a new routine. It's also a great time to spend as many moments enjoying the last of the warm breezes. I'm looking forward to sweet corn, pumpkin everything, apples from my mom's tree, and picking the best produce at the farmers market nearby.
I'm so happy to be home. It's one thing to love travel but when you're essentially told you CAN'T go home you remember how great you have it back where you're from. I took many photos again as usual and will be going through those as time allows. I'm looking forward to sharing them here on Lune Blog!
How was your summer? What are you looking forward to about fall?
